GameTap is an on-demand games service that is really much, much better than you would expect from Turner Broadcasting (no, seriously, you're probably imagining some Java/Flash-based "service" website like RealArcade- among other smart tech uses like FMOD and DOSBox, these guys wrote a Dreamcast emulator). Among various other great stuff, they funded the first two seasons of the Sam and Max episodic adventure games.

Annoying tech stuff though

  • Their PC game technology by Evient or Exuent or something emulates two drives on X: and Y:- while I admire the technical engineering involved in getting fourhundredsome PC games to respect that drive layout, that can bother systems that need all their drive letters (or just have 2 or 3 networked drives mapped at the end of the alphabet), and more importantly, these drivers don't work on 64-bit versions of Windows, no matter how prevalent it's getting, so if you're not on 32-bit Windows, you can't play anything that was released on PC.

Or you could just check Wikipedia.
